And the 2011 winner is….
Keith Simon, a native of Louisville for over 40 years has always had a passion for “the arts”. That passion has led him to pursue interests in photography, culinary and fine arts. He remembers winning his first drawing competition at the age of 10, then going on to win such awards as the Jefferson County Derby Festival Art Contest as a junior in high school.
Keith went on the graduate Magna Cum-laude from Sullivan University with a degree in the art of culinary sciences. He recently lent a couple of his favorite recipes to “A Feast For The Eyes”, Old Louisville’s latest cook book.
“Living on St James Court for the last six years has given me a new level of respect for the St James Court Art Show, a love of the neighborhood and an appreciation for all who call Old Louisville home. Representing this art show visually is an honor. I will be forever grateful”.
Here is a sneak peak of the 2011 Poster. This picture was taken by Keith’s friend and neighbor Marilyn Lattice while he was drawing the poster. The poster will be unveiled officially at the 2011 St. James Court Art Show Gala on September 24.

$1000 Cash Prize
Each year, the St. James Court Art Show sponsors a poster design competition to select the official commemorative poster. The winning design serves as the central visual image of the show and is used in promotional materials. There is a $1000 cash prize for the winning design.
The poster’s image communicates the vitality of the art show, the architectural beauty of the St. James Court neighborhood, and the cultural richness of historic Old Louisville. The poster competition is an ideal way for both established and up and coming designers to showcase their talents while actively contributing to the look of the St. James Court Art Show.
Now a long-held St James Court Art Show tradition, Sonny Whittle and Mark Bird created the first official the art show poster in 1981. Sonny exclusively created posters for the art show through 1994. The first poster competition was held in 1995 and established the practice that continues through today. A limited printing of only 200 signed copies / 300 unsigned of the official commemorative poster are available for sale each year.
