20th Anniversary of The St. James Court Art Show Poster Competition!

Since 1995, the St. James Court Art Show has sponsored a poster design competition to select the official commemorative poster. The winning design serves as the central visual image of the show and is used in promotional materials. There is a $2000 cash prize for the winning design.

The poster’s image communicates the vitality of the art show, the architectural beauty of the St. James Court neighborhood, and the cultural richness of historic Old Louisville. The poster competition is an ideal way for both established and emerging designers to showcase their talents while actively contributing to the look of the St. James Court Art Show.

A limited printing of the official commemorative poster are available for sale each year.

Application and Selection

We encourage anyone who is passionate about art and design to take part and enter the competition. The winning artist will not only have the honor of representing the St. James Court Art Show, but will win a $2,000 cash award and gain great exposure as the posters have become a regional collector’s item. Entries are only accepted from March 15 – June 13. Designs should be appropriate for replication for posters, silk screened T-shirts, and other art show promotional items.

All poster entries will be featured on our social media outlets. As tradition, the St. James Court residents will blind vote for their favorite poster to represent the 59th Annual Art Show on Sunday, June 28, 2015. The winner will be notified just a few days after.

The winner will be announced to the public in early August. Posters will be available for purchase during the art show at the Official Merchandise Booth located on the west side of the St. James Court fountain (Booth SJ-227).
