St. James Court Art Show Visiting Artist Day
This year marks the 51st Annual
St. James Court Art Show, but before the show even begins artists are in town
helping local schools. This year is the 4th annual Visiting Artist
Day. The art show has partnered with Norton Healthcare and Jefferson County
Public Schools to bring 14-plus artists into 14 elementary schools.

The artists will meet with 5th
graders to give them a hands-on approach to understanding art. Not only will
this be helping the children prepare for spring testing it will benefit children
at Kosair Children’s Hospital.
Some of the art the children make will be
given to patients at the children’s hospital. "There is an important connection
between art and healing," said Lynnie Meyer, R.N., MSN, Chief Development
Officer for Norton Healthcare. "We see it in programs such as music therapy and
expressive therapy supported by the Norton Healthcare Foundation and Children's
Hospital Foundation. The St. James Court Art Show showcases the work of artists
like those who tirelessly help our patients and we are proud and honored to be a
part of this wonderful event." |
